Kids Rock

Thanks for reaching out and looking for help. This means you are an amazing parent, which is your child's greatest asset!

Kids Rock is a unique program that supports your child and you as your family moves through challenging times.  No parent likes to feel isolated and concerned, nor do kids. The strength of my Kids Rock Program is integrating your child’s professional resources to unlock their potential. Together the therapist, the child, the parent, the teacher, the school counselor, and the pediatrician facilitate change that is not only achievable but also sustainable.

Children love to play and it can all be therapeutic! Play is a child’s language and toys are their words. Whether in the sand tray with hundreds of miniatures, or at the art table painting or collaging, or playing marbles, or walking in the woods, I will listen and help your child understand their feelings and learn to integrate those feelings into appropriate behavior.

Parents, you are amazing but sometimes you feel like it isn’t enough. Parenting is hard and stressful, especially after a long difficult day at work. Trust me I’ve been there and I’m here to support and guide you through this process.  I will not only listen and empathize with your frustrations and fears but also actively support you to integrate change in your household so peace and calm and unity can be restored.

Groups are a fantastic way to learn from others and to integrate what we learn individually. Your child and you will both be supported through group opportunities.

I see your kiddo for 1 hour a week and your child is at school about 30 hours a week, so contact with the teacher and the school counselor is invaluable in this process. I will reach out (with consent) to the school and meet with your child’s teacher and school counselor to create a uniform system for helping your child discover their potential.

The same goes for pediatricians or psychiatrists, I will contact them to facilitate a conversation about your child so we are all working together.

Sometimes even an amazing parent loses control or reaches the “end of the rope.” If you get there don’t panic, call me for a “quick fix” or send an email and I will run through some suggestions to help resolve the crisis. The key here is to pause and move forward with a plan.
